Don't have Matlab, Mathematica, Splus, or even don't want to install the free R? You may install Putty (see here for example) and connect to the Columbia Unix server.

To start matlab, you may enter matlab -nojvm -nosplash (for gui mode you need an X-server).
To start mathematica, enter math.
To start R, enter R.
To start splus, enter splus.
